Sensations are not mere nerve impulses
Our bodily sensations serve as a direct conduit to reality, anchoring our consciousness and nourishing the vitality of our existence. Without this sensory connection, our awareness risks becoming untethered, leaving life bereft of its essential sustenance.
Modern science often reduces bodily sensations to mere nerve impulses—externally stimulated feedback loops enabling us to navigate our environment, much like electrical wires transmitting data to a computer. While this mechanistic view offers some utility, it fails to capture the profound mystery inherent in bodily sensations and their role in the process of Soul Creation.
The enigma of self-sensation
Bodily sensations, while commonly understood as "externally stimulated" through environmental interactions or physical movement, can also be "internally stimulated" by the act of voluntarily, directed attention. This latter form of engagement, where the "willful" focus on sensations amplifies their perception, demonstrates that the effects of internal and external stimulation can be strikingly similar. Both forms of stimulation produce various energetic qualities that enrich our experience of life, expand our contact with being, and nourish something far deeper within.
From a physiological perspective, external stimulation triggers nerve impulses that electrochemically transmit vital information via anatomical pathways, such as afferent nerves. However, this description barely scratches the surface. Emerging research hints at a broader spectrum of phenomena—electromagnetic, photonic, and even quantum—that may underlie these processes. More intriguingly, the capacity to voluntarily amplify and refine our perception of bodily sensations, thus inducing altered states of being, remains largely unexplored by contemporary science.
In essence, humans possess an extraordinary faculty: the potential ability to internally induce, amplify and replicate the effects of externally stimulated sensations through conscious will. This capability implies that our perception of reality can be fundamentally altered by the quality and intensity of our attention. If we can deepen our awareness of the energies coursing through our bodies more profoundly than external reality itself can evoke or sustain, it challenges the primacy of the external world. Instead, it highlights the profound significance of our inner reality as the true wellspring of life's vitality.
Technology and disembodiment
Technology, while transformative, often exacerbates a disconnect from our bodily sensations. By diverting our attention into the realm of hardware and software, it risks producing disembodied individuals estranged from their corporeal existence. Yet, when approached with mindfulness and discipline, technology can serve as a "eternal" reminder to reconnect with our primal essence—the sensations that form the bedrock of our being.
Sensations and Soul Creation
What role do sensations play in Soul Creation? Sensations act as the energetic bridge between worlds, as reflected in the properties of the middle part of the Soul. They are the raw materials of soul formation, which must be consciously and continuously deepened, expanded and integrated. In this interplay, a forging occurs—a "birth" between realms—that generates a transformative vehicle for the soul. This intermediary construct unites the lower and higher aspects of existence, enabling the transmission of various qualities of energies in both directions and, as a consequence, creating something entirely unique and essential.
